PUBLIC NOTICE

Nortana Grain Co. in Lambert Mt. is seeking bids for the demolition and removal of the Nortana grain elevator, annex, scale room, attached feed shed and offices located in Lambert beginning in 2012. INVITATION TO BID
Sealed bids, entitled Dawson County Courthouse - Elevator Addition, Glendive, Montana, will be received by the Dawson County Commissioners by 4:30 p.m. at the Clerk/Recorder office at the Courthouse on February 21, 2012. Bids will be opened and read aloud at the Commissioner meeting at 5:30 p.m. the same day. The bid shall consist of: Base Bid and Alternate.
A Pre-Bid will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. the site. All interested parties are encouraged to attend.
Plans and specifications and a general form of contract may be examined in the office of Schutz Foss Architects, 3030 4th Avenue North, Billings, Montana. A copy of said documents may be obtained at Schutz Foss Architects= office by a bona fide prospective bidder.
The plans and specifications are also in the following Builders Exchanges - Montana: Billings, Great Falls, Kalispell, Helena, Bozeman, Missoula, Butte, Sidney, also, Rapid City, SD and Dickinson, ND.
There will be a $100.00 deposit for each set of plans and specifications. Each complete set of plans and specifications returned within fourteen (14) days after bid opening will receive 100% refund of their deposit. No deposit will be refunded to non-bidders.
All bids and proposals for the construction of this public contract project shall contain a statement that the bidder contractor and subcontractors are duly and regularly licensed under the laws of the State of Montana, and the number and class of such license shall appear on such bid. No contract shall be awarded to any contractor unless he is the holder of a license in the class within which the value of the project shall fall.
Contractors shall comply with fair labor practices and must meet the requirements of State statutes and Montana wage and preference laws. The Contractor must insure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicap or marital status. Montana preference rules will apply to this contract. (Title 18, Chapter 1, M.C.A.)
Each bid or proposal must be accompanied by bid security in the form of a certified check, cashier=s check, bank money order, or a bank draft drawn and issued in accordance with Section 18-1-203, M.C.A., or bid bond payable to COUNTY OF DAWSON for 10 percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. Each bidder must expressly covenant in their bid that if the bidder shall be awarded the contract the bidder will, within (30) days of the award, enter into a formal contract with COUNTY OF DAWSON; otherwise, the bidder will pay unto COUNTY OF DAWSON the difference in money between the amount of the bid and the bidder and the amount for which COUNTY OF DAWSON legally contracts with another party to perform the work if the latter amount is in excess of the former. The successful bidder shall furnish an approved performance bond and a labor and material payment bond, each in an amount equal to 100 percent (100%) of the contract amount. Insurance is required shall be provided by the successful bidder and a certificate and that insurance shall be provided. The bonding company used must be on the Federal Treasury listing. If the successful bidder fails or refuses to enter into such contract or to provide the necessary bonds or insurance as stated above, the 10 percent (10%) bid security shall be forfeited as provided in Section 10-1-204, M.C.A.
No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled time for the receipt of bids, which is February 21, 2012 at 4:30 p.m.
COUNTY OF DAWSON reserves the right to reject any or all bids received, to waive informalities, to postpone the award of the contract for a period of time not to exceed thirty (30) days and to accept the lowest responsible bid which is in the best interest of COUNTY OF DAWSON, applying the preference provisions of Section 18-1-102 M.C.A. where applicable.
Contractors to guarantee bids for thirty (30) days.
