Red Devils end regular season with a 55-43 win over Miles City

The Dawson County High School boys basketball team hammered through some setbacks to defeat Miles City, 55-43, on Saturday.
In email, DCHS head coach Wade Murphy wrote that he “was really proud of the way the kids hung in there when things didn’t look too good at first.”
Miles City team jumped out to 9-6 and 16-15 leads in the opening two quarters. But DCHS came back strong after the half to outscore their opponent 12-5 and 22-13 in the next two quarters. For DCHS, Stephen Steinbron scored 19 points. Teammates Pacyn Partridge made 14 and Robby Keiser ended with 12.
“We were really good about staying positive and executing on offense and defense to not only get us back into the game but also take the lead and keep going,” Murphy wrote. “That is a great step as we head into divisionals this week.”
DCHS enters the tournament with a game against Sidney at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the 2018 Class A basketball divisional tournament. The winner goes on to play Lewistown at 5 p.m. Wednesday The loser will play at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
“I like where we are seated considering our start,” Murphy wrote. “We’ve won five of our last seven games and the kids are playing with a lot of confidence right now. Playing Sidney is always a challenge and I expect nothing different in the first round of the tournament.”
