Henrietta Dietz, age 82, of Beach, North Dakota, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at her home in Beach. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Silha Funeral Home in Beach and from 6:00 P.M. until service time at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Golva. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Golva, North Dakota. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Golva with Father Dan Berg officiating. Rite of Committal will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Golva. Silha Funeral Home of Beach has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Henrietta was born on April 16, 1932, in Glendive, Montana a daughter of Henry Bernard and Amelia Josephine (Strohmayer) Becker. Henrietta received her education in Glendive and Miles City, Montana. She met and later married the love of her life, Richard Dietz on June 27, 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Golva. After their marriage they moved out to the family farm southeast of Sentinel Butte, North Dakota. In 1954, they moved to Dawson, North Dakota where they resided for two years. In the fall of 1955, they moved to Glendive. Henrietta and Richard bought the family farm in 1968 at which time they moved back to the farm.
Henrietta was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Golva. Henrietta’s hobbies included wood working, crocheting, gardening and crafts. She also loved fishing, but dancing was a favorite of hers. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking for large gatherings including brandings and family gatherings. Henrietta loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents and step father, Clarence Norgaard.
Henrietta is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Richard Dietz of Beach; four sons, Thomas Matthew Dietz of Caldwell, Idaho, and his children, Shane Joseph Dietz and Brian Matthew Dietz and granddaughter Amelia, Donald Roy (Cheri) Dietz of Fargo, North Dakota and their son, Ronald Ray Dietz, Jerome Henry ( Patsy) Dietz of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and their children Kelsey Elaine Dietz and Brandon Joseph Dietz, Randall Lee (Debbie) Dietz of Beach and their children, Miranda Sage Dietz, Ashlynn Brooke Dietz, Mckenzie Nicole Dietz, and foster daughter Starr Dietz; two daughters, Patricia Ann Dietz of Beach and Betty Jo (Duane) Kokinda of Woodlands, Texas and their son Zachary Adam Kokinda; two brothers, Harry M. (Shirley) Becker of Gaylord, Michigan and Melvin Michael Norgaard of Whitefish, Montana and numerous nieces and nephews.
