Joan E. Baisch

Joan E. Baisch, age 85, of Glendive, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at the Glendive Medical Center in Glendive. 

Per Joan’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at Dawson Memorial Cemetery  at a later date. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Joan was born on August 23, 1932, along with her twin sister Janette, in Glendive to parents U.G. and Louise (Gallus) Searer. She was raised and educated in Glendive, and graduated from Dawson County High School. She worked many places in her life, but she was best known for all the wonderful baking she did for many people and fundraisers. She was especially famous and sought after for her cookies. 

Joan was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Shoopman; second husband, Maynard Baisch; sisters, Emogene Baily, Virginia Coyan and Pat Herrington; and brother, Robert Searer.

Joan is survived by her sons, Richard “Dick” (Sheri) Shoopman and Rockie (Debbie) Shoopman; grandchildren, Chad (Fatema) Shoopman, Shane Shoopman, Victoria “Tori” (Chris Dellapaolera) Shoopman and J.D. Shoopman; siblings, Vernon Searer, Janette (Reid) Carter, Betty Morehouse, Bernadette Farmer, Georgia Searer and Linda (Durwood) Peterson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
