Bruce Hilliard, age 68 of Glendive passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020 at the Glendive Medical Center in Glendive. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Bruce Norman Hilliard also known as Herb or Herbie, was born on August 18, 1952 to Bob and Nora Hilliard. The middle of five children, Herb made sure to leave a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was a simple man who was happiest riding a good horse (always a Palomino), with a good dog by his side.

For someone who loved the ranch, he definitely saw the world: first, while stationed in Germany in the Army, and then with his various trucking jobs throughout his career. His longest driving time was for CHS. When he wasn’t working, he could be found at the ranch working cows (no one could handle the back alley quite like him), or tinkering and working with various projects (he was an incredibly gifted wood worker).

It should also be said that Herbie loved being an uncle and dispensed advice from how to catch a wild woman, to what routes to take safely when driving to unfamiliar destinations.

Herb was preceded in death by his parents; Bob and Nora, and sister Lorie Connor.

Surviving him are as follows: siblings Steve (Nadine) Hilliard, Leta (Joe) Yuricic, and Carol Hilliard; Nieces and Nephews Shane (Tricia) Hilliard, Stacey (Jesse) Grantham, Rob Yuricic, Sara Hilliard, Jorell (Justin) Connor, and Cali (Christian) Baker; Great Nieces and Nephews Wynston Ryder, Lexy Ryder, Sy Hilliard, Syd Hilliard, Ashlyn Grantham, Casey Grantham, Jerzie Grantham, Reveille Connor, Gerald Baker, and his namesake Foster LLoyd Norman Baker; numerous cousins and Pal the horse and Riley the dog.
