Bullock is an advocate for reliable internet in rural MT

Thursday, September 10, 2020

Dear Editor:

Rural Montana is in trouble. Besides low prices for wheat and cattle, drought, and fires, farmers and ranchers are stuck with unreliable and obsolete internet connections.

Reliable internet is no longer a luxury in this day and age; it’s a necessity. To remain connected to each other, current events, and essential services, fast and consistent internet connectivity is an absolute must for rural Montana.

Lack of rural broadband access affects not only our interpersonal communication, but access to telehealth, mental health services, education, and commerce. It is especially important now when in-person contact should be limited to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Governor Bullock has consistently worked to improve access to high-speed internet and advocate for our rural communities to make sure they are not left behind.

Let’s be sure to send Governor Bullock to the Senate so he can continue to advocate for rural broadband as one of his top infrastructure priorities and keep all Montanans connected.
