Candidate understand the views of Eastern MT

Dear Editor,

I am writing to express my support for Pat Mischel’s election in Montana’s Senate District 18.

Pat is a lifelong resident of the Glendive community---he understands the views and values of Eastern Montana. He has committed his lifetime to raising his family here, and will diligently represent our needs in the legislature.

He has a deep insight of the sometimes arcane details of local governance, whether it’s school funding, public utilities, small business, public lands, hunter’s rights, environmental issues, or a host of other matters of local and state importance. He takes the time, and has the initiative, to study the details involved in an issue, and does not rely on party rhetoric to formulate his position.

Pat’s record reflects his belief in a full day’s work for a fair day’s pay. He in no way disagrees with providing the opportunities for making a living, but expects the risks and rewards to be distributed equitably.

Pat believes that all Constitutional Amendments in the Bill of Rights are equally important, including the 2d Amendment. He also feels strongly in the separation of church and state, and that a candidates religion is not a qualification for public office.

Over the last thirty years, I have seen Pat’s political views evolve over time. He has the good judgement and energy to represent his constituents, and I believe that the citizens of Senate District 18 would do well to have Pat Mischel in the 2021 Montana Legislature.
