A family that lived in Hodges in the early years was Harry and Dorothy Wilkins. Both were born in Athens, Illinois, Harry was born on May 23, 1890 and Dolly Ruthraff was born November 14, 1889. They were married on April 17, 1907 in Memphis, Tennessee. They moved to Hodges in 1924 where Dolly was the first trick operator for the Northern Pacific Railroad. Harry commuted to Glendive, where he worked as a shift operator. The Wilkins had four children, Dorothy, Ray, Betty and Harry Jr. Dolly was an active member and held the presidency of the Golden Rule Club at Hedges. Dolly played the piano and Ray played the saxophone at many of the dances at Hodges. Harry died in 1968 and Dolly died in 1969.
