A recent op-ed in our local paper was good stuff. The piece was well written, full of verifiable facts and logically put together as I would only expect from the author. It solicited a great discussion with another history-teacher friend as we read the piece. But I was reminded of a paper I once wrote where the professor said, I don’t agree with what you are saying, but you proved your point. And isn’t that what we wish in any discussion — prove your point as was done, stir up discussion, but I find, like my professor, I don’t agree with the author’s conclusion.
