Live music, cold beer, food and fun along Merrill from the intersection with Towne Street down to city hall at Power Street and also includes Bell Street between Merrill and Kendrick Avenue. Street closures begin at 2 p.m. and also include the city parking lot on Merrill. The DCEDC requests that everyone plan accordingly and please remove your vehicles from the event area prior to 2 p.m. so set-up can begin.

“We hope you will come down and join us as we celebrate all the wonderful things that make Glendive a great place to live and which give our town a bright future,” said DCEDC Executive Director Jason Stuart. “We were disappointed when we had to postpone the event from its original July date because of the extreme heat, but the weather forecast for this Thursday looks absolutely perfect. It should be a great fall night of fun and community fellowship, and we hope you’ll come out and join us.”

The event line-up includes live music from the band Nova and Levi Blom. Nova is a group out of Dickinson, N.D., that primarily features covers of classic rock songs. Levi Blom is a country music artist out of Butte who features his own original music. Nova will take the stage first starting at 6 p.m. Levi Blom will follow at 8 p.m.

“We’re really excited about both of our performers,” Stuart said. “Nova comes to us highly recommended by the ‘First on First’ summer concert series organizers in Dickinson, and Levi is a native Montanan and aspiring country music artist who we think folks will really enjoy.”

Both local brewers will also be present as Cross Country Brewing and Beaver Creek Brewery return to Celebrate Glendive. A new addition to this year’s event is Bloom & Vine, who will be present and selling wine from their new mobile catering trailer. Bloom will be donating $1 from every glass of wine sold to help fund the restoration of the T-Rex art installation beside the EPEC.

There will be no shortage of food vendors to choose from either, as there will be 11 different options within the event area. Monte Carlo Pizza and Cravn’s — both event sponsors — are within the event area, and nine other mobile food vendors will be present. The mobile food vendors include Tailgators, Bully Burgers, Zippidy Doo Dawg, Fitzerelli’s Tacos, Tropical Sno, Muleskinners BBQ, Outside the Shell, J&M Philippine Cuisine and Citrus Cyclones.

“When it comes to food, we’ve got something that should appeal to everyone, from burgers and fries to pizza to seafood to barbecue to ice cream to sno cones,” Stuart said. “Even if you’re not into the music or the beer you should at least come down and feed the family!”

There will also be two separate raffle drawings at the event. In the raffle prize drawings, event attendees can purchase tickets for a chance to win a “pottery basket” from Country Girl Clay valued at $250, as well as one of two pairs of round trip tickets on Cape Air. Members of the Dawson Community College men’s basketball team will also be selling 50/50 raffle tickets at the event. The drawings for the raffle prizes will be held at approximately 7:30 p.m. You must be present at the event to win.

Reynolds Market will be organizing and supervising games and activities for kids in Our Park from 5 p.m. until dark during the event, with assistance from the Dawson County High School Key Club and the DCC men’s basketball team. A bouncy house will also be available thanks to Glendive Evangelical Church. For liability reasons, an adult guardian must remain with children aged 10 and under.

The Friends of Makoshika will also be set up at the event to promote the park and FoM projects, and attendees should keep an eye out for Makoshika mascot “Mak,” who should also be in attendance.

“This is going to be a fun, exciting event with a little bit of something for everyone, and look forward to seeing you all out Thursday evening as we Celebrate Glendive,” Stuart said.

A multitude of generous local sponsors have helped make this event possible, including Cape Air, American Bank Center, American Ford, Blondie’s Salon, Cal’s Carpet, Cetera Financial, Country Girl Clay, Cravn’s, Dawson County Tourism Business Improvement District, Edward Jones, Enchanted Room, Glendive Medical Center, the Glendive Ranger-Review, Hell Creek Music & More, Hello Beautiful, HUB Insurance, J&K Dollar Store, McPherson Dental, Mid-Rivers Communications, Mon-Dak Construction Supply, Monte Carlo Pizza, Superior Water, Stockman Bank, U.S. Bank, The Vint and WBI Energy, with additional support by Reynolds Market, Gibbs Equipment and Barnick’s Hometown Center.
