The Red Devil Booster club held the winter sports banquet Tuesday to honor the seasons and individual accomplishments of the winter sports programs. The event was hosted by the Glendive Elks Club at the EPEC.

Cheer, boys basketball, girls basketball and wrestling were the sports that were celebrated during the banquet.

Eight varsity letters for the cheerleading season were presented and senior Tehya Feather was voted the squads MVP. Madison Persons was elected the most improved for the season.

Coach Wade Murphy then took over to talk about the boys basketball season. The program awarded 13 players with varsity letters for the season.

Boe Eaton, Logan Phipps and Stephen Steinbron were presented with awards for being captains.

Steinbron was also honored with 1st team All-Conference honors and All-State to finish off his decorated high school career.

Coach Kayla Rivas was next up to talk about the girls basketball program. The girls came up just short of making back to back state tournament appearances this season. Twelve varsity letters were handed out for this squad.

Thea Robson and Karsen Murphy were the recipients of the Captain Awards. Murphy was also elected 1st team All-Conference. Junior Savannah Toms and sophomore Jillian Litwiller recieved honorable mention All-Conference honors. Murphy also recieved all-State honors for her impressive work this season. Litwiller was chosen as this year Most Improved Player. Robson was voted the team’s Most Inspirational Player. The Carol Wyse Head and Heart Award went to Kayla Brown and Murphy.

Coach Garrett Tennant talked about the wrestling program’s success for the season. Nine varsity letters were handed out for the program. Keegan Mires, Kirby Basta and Nelson Crisafulli were the recipients of the captains’ awards. Mires, Basta, Crisafulli, Brennan Payne and Jayce Kassner won All-Conference honors. Mires and Crisafuli also recieved All-State honors. The Darwin Jung Most Valuable Wrestler Award went to Crisafuli as well. The Matt Siegle award went to Mires.
