Erna Martha (Schroth) Aldinger, age 97, of Glendive passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Billings Clinic in Billings.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church in Glendive with Pastor Avis Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Dawson Memorial Cemetery. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Erna was born in Neckartenzlingen, Germany on April 27, 1921, a daughter of Robert and Martha (Keller) Schroth. She lived and was educated in Pliezhausen, Germany. Erna married Robert Aldinger on April 18, 1946. They lived in Pliezhausen until 1952 and then immigrated with their daughter, Ute to the United States.

They lived in Fallon, Mont. for eleven years. Two more children were born, Roland Aldinger and Tina Aldinger. Erna and Robert enjoyed traveling and spending the winter months in Green Valley, Ariz. Erna was a member of the Monday Morning Knitting Club for many years. She enjoyed gardening and was a great cook. Erna enjoyed making several German recipes.

Erna was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Martha; her husband, Robert on March 13, 2010; one sister, Martha Knoblich of Germany; and one brother, Robert Schroth also of Germany.

Erna is survived by her children, Ute (Bill) Morefield of Aloha, Ore., Roland (Ann) Aldinger of Glendive, and Tina Aldinger of Colorado Springs, Colo.; her grandchildren, Bill Morefield of Des Moines, Iowa, Bob (Rose) Morefield of Milo, Maine, Tiffany Aldinger of Great Falls, Grant Aldinger of Glendive, and Christina Fletcher of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Gage Dinardi and Aubree Aldinger; her special niece, Ilse (Lawrence) Roehl of Glendive; and several nieces and nephews in Germany.
