Jean Marie Carney, age 79, of Glendive passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glendive with Father Francis Schreiber officiating. Private family interment will be in the Dawson County Cemetery in Glendive. Silha Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Jean was born on November 9, 1939 in Glendive, the only child born to Fred and Mildred (Johnson) Dalsasso. She was raised and educated in Glendive, graduating from Dawson County High School with the class of 1957. She attended one year of college at Colorado Women’s College. Jean was united in marriage to Richard P. Carney on May 13, 1961 in Glendive. To this union three children were born: Bob, Terri and Pat.

Jean enjoyed her many travels and cruises overseas. She was especially fond of traveling to Sweden with her mother and Pat to visit the country where her grandparents came from and where many relatives reside today. She was known in her community for her kindness, generosity and giving to others. She was an extremely hard worker and always put others’ needs before herself. Jean was a highly empathetic person that showed genuine concern for others.

Jean is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard of Glendive; her son, Bob and his children, Esther, Sylvia, Monica, Natalia, Christopher, Michael and Joey of Glendive; her daughter, Terri (Mark) and their children, Leilani, Stephanie, Katrielle, Ethan, Tiana and Ryan of Glendive; her son, Pat (Heidi) Carney of Glendive; and her beloved dog, Moose.

Memorials are suggested to Second Hand Paws Small Animal Rescue in Glendive, Sacred Heart Catholic Church Altar Society or the Salvation Army.
