Joan Christina Schilling Pisk

Joan Christina Schilling Pisk, formerly of Glendive passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Tender Nest Assisted Living Home in Billings at the age of 62. She had moved to Billings for assistance in dealing with her diagnosis of MSA (Multiple Systems Atrophy).

Joan was born on October 18, 1955 in Miles City to Ervin and Pat Schilling. She has two older sisters, Jean and Jane and one younger brother, Jerome.

She attended the Sackman School, Fallon School and graduated high school from Terry in 1973. Following graduation she attended dental school in Great Falls. She owned and operated the Yellowstone Cleaners for many years. Joan worked at Action for Eastern Montana and the VFW until 2017.

Joan was cheerful, outgoing and never shied away from a good time. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, cooking family favorite meals and catching a Braves baseball game with her parents. Joan had many friends and enjoyed a cold one on weekends watching her two favorite football teams: the Griz and the Steelers. She loved adventure and going on road trips to see new things and create lifelong memories. Joan cherished her children and grandchildren and loved going to their activities cheering them on. She always looked forward to their visits. She kept track of what was happening in the lives of her family and friends.

Joan is survived by her mother, Pat Schilling of Terry; daughter, Justine (Carl) Laumeyer of Nashua, Mont.; son, Fabian (Cari) Pisk of Billings; sisters, Jean (Kent) Brubaker of Missoula and Jane Schilling of Terry; brother, Jerome (Julie) Schilling of Shepherd, Mont.; two grandsons, Walker Laumeyer and Braeden Pisk; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her dad, Ervin Schilling; and her companion and love, Arnie Butler.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the Silha Funeral Home with Deacon Bob Ackerman officiating. Interment will follow at Dawson County Cemetery in Glendive.
