Lois Marie Hansen

Lois Marie Hansen, age 89, of Glendive passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the Billings Clinic in Billings.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2019 at the Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Glendive with Pastor Greg Lucido officiating. Interment will be in the Dawson Memorial Cemetery in Glendive. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Lois was born on July 14, 1929 to Fred and Martha (Undem) Rilla in Glendive. She was raised and educated in Glendive graduating from Dawson County High School with the class of 1948. Lois was united in marriage to Bernie Hansen on June 5, 1948 and to this union four children were born, Brenda, Randy, Cindi and Wendy. Lois and Bernie were married 46 years when Bernie passed away in 1995. Lois remained in Glendive living in the family home until moving into Grandview and eventually the Eastern Montana Veterans Home, where she spent the last few years.

Lois loved her children and grandchildren. She was a devout Christian and loved putting together 300 piece jigsaw puzzles. You could always find her with some kind of candy in her mouth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Martha; her husband, Bernie; her sister, Alice Entzel; her brother, Fred Rilla Jr.; and her daughter-in-law, Shirley Hansen.

She is survived by her sister, JoAnn Pettersen of Glendive; her children, Brenda Hansen of Great Falls, Randy Hansen of Glendive, Cindi (Dennis) Byron of Glendive and Wendy (Mark) Doll of Great Falls; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Karen (Vern) Deaton and Pat Rilla all of Glendive; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials in Lois’ name are suggested to the Sagebrush Alley Senior Center, 604 Grant Street, Glendive, MT 59330.
