Parade story entertaining, yet inaccurate

Sunday, December 16, 2018

Dear Editor,

Recently I received a copy of The Ranger Review dated Nov. 15, 2018. The article on the light parade was entertaining although inacurate.

The idea for the parade started after my family and I returned from Disney World. I saw their light parade and brought it up to Pat Boese, why couldn’t Glendive do the same, with Christmas lights and generators.

We approached the Chamber and so the parade started. Pat and I talked to groups, businesses, and the public.

We wrote letters and sent them out. We then contacted them to verify if they would participate.

Once we were up and running, we lined the parade up; Blocked Merrill Ave off, (with All American Days committee) and also we were able to turn street lights off. We enjoyed watching the fruits of our labor

One other item we brought to the Glendive Chamber was the Christmas loans. The financial community did a fantastic job with offering Christmas loans for 0 percent interest & short term. These Christmas Bucks were used only at Glendive Merchants.

Merry Christmas
