The Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Fisheries Division recently had the helicopter working near Fort Peck. While the work was underway, Makoshika State Park Chris Dantic had the agency do a quick flyover of the park to get a “bird’s eye view” of the old Sand Creek overlook road, the park boundaries and Inila Lake. Dantic said the lake’s water has come up quite a bit, to the point that there is a little spillage over the natural dam. Dantic added that he hopes to have the helicopter back next year to start doing aerial surveys of leafy spurge infestations in the park.
