We certainly have been blessed with rain the last month or so. Thought this might be the right time to talk about summer weather warnings ... Do you know what they mean?

Weather advisory: weather hazard is imminent or likely, could cause a significant inconvenience. Use caution. Weather watch: a risk of weather hazard in the near future, could pose a threat to life and or property. Have a plan of action. Weather warning: weather hazard is occurring, imminent or likely, poses a threat to life and or property. Take protective action. Red Flag warning: issued when weather conditions are ideal for wildland fire combustion and rapid spread.

Congratulations to the winners of the pinochle tournament held on June 29: first place – Agnes Kinney and Velma Kinsey; second place – -Bob Siegle and Stella Bakken; third place – Irene Reidlinger and Dorothy Weiland; fourth place – Gale Abbey and Phil Siegle. The winners of the activities held this week were: bridge – Marian Chouinard; pinochle – Gale Abbey; whist – Robert Siegle; pinochle- – Martha McCloy
