During this time of adjustment to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus, normal services of the Dawson County Commissioners, Mr. Sanderson, Contract Planner for Dawson County and the Dawson County Fair Office have been altered or, in some cases, eliminated all together. Contact these agencies for the latest updates.

The regularly scheduled public meetings of the Dawson County Commissioners are held at 10 a.m. on the first Tuesday of the month and at 5:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month.

Anyone wishing to meet with the commissioners can either call or make an appointment to be put on the agenda. Normally, at least one member of the board will be present in the office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, excluding holidays.

The commissioners agenda is posted on the website at www.dawsoncountymontana. com and posted on the door of the commissioner’s office at the courthouse by Friday noon before the Tuesday sessions.

The fair manager position is now part time. Office hours have not been set; however, the manager is in the office at the courthouse every Monday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. A schedule will be determined if/when the COVID-19 pandemic has passed.

The Dawson County Commissioners have announced the following protocol for county offices during Phase 2 of the state’s reopening:

• All County boards and meetings can once again be held in person but only in venues that allow for social distancing practices. All board meetings still need to be posted and open to the public as normal.

• All community and conference rooms normally available to the public will once again be open for reservations but capacity will be limited for social distancing practices.

• All County offices will be open to the public but the public is highly encouraged to conduct business over the phone, mail and/or electronically if possible.

• The Meals On Wheels program will continue as normal and congregate lunches will continue to be served as a pick-up, to-go service, please make reservations as normal.

• The Library is open as of June 3, 2020 and will have different operating practices than normal so please follow the posted procedures when entering the library.

• The Dawson County Health Department will remain open but reservations and the nature of the visit will be required prior to visiting the courthouse. Please call ahead before visiting the Health Department.

• The Dawson County Correctional Facility will remain closed to all visitors and the public.

• The Dawson County Urban Transportation Buses will return to normal operations but riders are encouraged to wear masks while on the bus.

A Glendive community blood drive is scheduled for Oct. 19, 2020, from 12 – 5:15 p.m. at the Glendive Alliance Church located at 105 Highland Park Road.
