Dawson Days aims to offer fun, raise money for nonprofits

Thursday, June 24, 2021

Dear Editor:

To Glendive and the surrounding communities,

The Dawson Days Committee is extremely excited about our upcoming festival style celebration, Dawson Days, which will be held July 23,24, and 25. Working for over 8 months to plan this event, our goals are threefold:

• Support local businesses

• Encourage visitors and tourism

• Support local nonprofit organizations

After calculating earnings and expenses, all profits from this event will be divided equally between participating nonprofit organizations. Currently Glendive Community Cancer Fund, Friends of Makoshika, Bell Street Bridge Committee, and Makoshika Wellness are participating. Mondak Boys and Girls Club may also be joining the weekend. Each nonprofit will be hosting a different activity during the weekend- all separated thus no conflict in scheduling will be experienced. Our local nonprofit groups often struggle with volunteers. Working together, we can help each other and increase our workforce, promoting more successful experiences for everyone!

The Dawson Days Committee is so grateful that Miss Montana, Knights of Columbus, as well as Shop Glendive Crazy Days has decided to schedule their community celebrations on the same weekend! We ask any local vendors to contact us about our vendor event on Saturday July 24.

Please check out our Facebook Page for a full weekend schedule.

As a first annual event, we hope to make this as seamless as possible for all involved, learning and growing more every year.

Thank you all for your support!
