Edeltraud “Traudel” Kron, age 86, of Glendive passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Canyon Creek Memory Care in Billings.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020 at the Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Glendive with Pastor Greg Lucido officiating. Interment will follow at the Dawson Memorial Cemetery. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Traudel was born on July 10, 1933 in Brandenburg, Germany, daughter to Richard and Elizabeth (Pritzkow) Schreiber. She was raised and educated in East Germany before she came to the United States by way of Ellis Island, N.Y. in 1952. On February 15, 1953 she was united in marriage to the love of her life Alfred Kron in Fallon, Mont. To this union six children were born. Traudel was truly Alfred’s better half, she worked hard raising their family as well as taking care of the bookwork for Kron Construction. They made a wonderful team for 63 years.

Traudel participated in many community events, as well as Our Savior Lutheran Church and the church choir. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, playing cards and traveling. Some of the locations they traveled to included Spain, England, Bahamas, Jamaica, Germany, Hawaii and Mexico. She also made several trips to Texas and Oklahoma. Traudel played the piano, the accordion, and was known for her love of decorating. She took great pride in having a well-kept home. Above everything, she loved her family and cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Traudel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred in 2016; and two sisters, Gisela Krohn and Helgard “Holly” Engen.

Traudel is survived by her six children, Gerhard Kron of Palo Alto, Calif., Rita (Tom) Stortz of Glendive, Claudia (Doug) Frederick of Houston, Texas, Ken (Lee Ann) Kron of Tulsa, Okla., Heidi (Mark) Gauthier of Helena, and Jody (Dennis) Knoll of Glendive; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, with another two on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
