LaBonna “Bonnie” Ann Roney, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on March 24, 2022, with family by her side. A Rosary service will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at the Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glendive with Father Francis Schrieber officiating. Rite of Committal will be in the Dawson County Cemetery. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Bonnie was born on December 20, 1934 in Glendive to Lawrence and Pauline Stoner. She was raised and educated in Glendive, graduating from Dawson County High School. In her early years, Bonnie worked at Gate City Dairy and also did housekeeping at Eastmont. On May 11, 1953, she married her sweetheart David “Bud” Roney. In the 45 years they had together, they had four children: Michael (Linda) Roney, Patrick Roney, Kathleen (Bob) Prescott and Nancee (Darin) Keller. She happily remained in Glendive her entire life in the house that her husband built.

Bonnie enjoyed the outdoors. She loved hunting, fishing, camping, agate picking, her flower beds and her remarkable garden. Bonnie was selfless, and she greatly enjoyed helping people. She was an affectionate wife and mother. She also cherished her time spent with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, her cats and the neighborhood cats.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; and her oldest son, Michael. She is survived by her son, Pat; daughters, Kate and Nancee; her brother, Larry; numerous nieces and nephews; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bonnie was loved by all and will be greatly missed. She was truly the most self-sacrificing, giving, genuine, and honest person who touched so many lives.
