Mary Ann Wilcox, 84, formerly of Harlowton, Mont. passed away peacefully with family by her side on August 27, 2019, at the Wibaux County Nursing Home.

Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mary Ann was born and raised in the Billings area where she met the love of her life Jack Wilcox. Mary Ann and Jack raised their children in the Lockwood area of Billings. In the early 80’s Jack and Mary Ann relocated to Harlowton, Mont. During her life, Mary Ann was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who fully supported Jack in his general contracting efforts and later, worked alongside Jack in building and operating Lazy J Lanes bowling alley in Harlowton. Mary Ann possessed a self determination and what some may call a stubborn independence which served her well after Jack’s untimely death in 1985. Mary Ann went on to operate the Lazy J Lanes for several years during which time she purchased, remodeled and operated the City Club bowling alley in Big Timber as well. Throughout her life Mary Ann was a thoughtful and caring person whose witty sense of humor was always at the ready. She could take a joke and dish it out with perfection as well. Later in her life Mary Ann relocated to Wibaux where she enjoyed reading, crosswords and watching a good western movie. Mary Ann was most happy when joined by family and friends who shared music, or joined her in putting puzzles together or just visiting over tea and orange sticks about her grandchildren’s latest adventures or of times gone by.

She is survived by her daughters, Jacque (Larry) Holmquist of Layton, Utah, Trish (Steve) Olson of Glendive, and Deanna (Rusty) Palmer of Spokane, Wash.; sisters, Dorothy Steinmetz and Linda (Oren) Rosin of Billings, and Edna Renz of Paul, Idaho; brothers, Gene (Donna) Lesser of Bozeman and Brian (Judy) Lesser of Billings; and numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wilcox; and her son, David Wilcox; as well as parents, John and Vera Lesser; sister, Florence E. (Lesser) Skates; and brothers, Walter and Johnny Lesser.

In lieu of flowers or other remembrances, the family requests donations be made in Mary Ann’s name to the Wibaux County Nursing Home endowment fund.
