Nellie Mae Kreiman was born in Helena to Florence (Wright) and Sydney Mann Sr. on Jan. 8, 1930. Her family lived in Unionville, Mont. until 1933 when they relocated to Hamilton, Mont. Nellie enjoyed their mountain home with a view of Blodgett Canyon. She received her education in the Hamilton School system graduating with the class of 1948.

During a summer spent in eastern Montana with her aunt, Nellie met Allan Kreiman. After a long distance courtship, they married on June 22, 1950. Allan and Nellie farmed and ranched north of Lindsay throughout their lifetime. Nellie was a godly mother and raised four children.

She served the Lord by teaching Sunday school in the Bloomfield Alliance Church and the Richey Alliance Church. She also served as a member of Child Evangelism Fellowship and was an active member in Women’s Missionary Prayer Fellowship.

Nellie was a part of the Lindsay area “Get Up and Go Garden Club.” Raising flowers was a gift of Nellie’s. She faithfully took a bouquet of fresh flowers to church every Sunday during the summer months. Allan would tease Nellie by saying, “The family can’t eat flowers! We need more garden!” Nellie accommodated Allan’s wishes by raising a huge garden every year. In the summer, you could find her going up and down the rows with her hoe. Using the produce from her garden, Nellie prepared home cooked meals for her family, special guests and unexpected company. There was no such thing as store bought quick meals in her home. The two worn areas in front of the kitchen stove and sink testify to the countless hours she spent there.

Her family was her life. She spent hours praying for each of them by name. To fill her days, Nellie wrote letters to missionaries, family who lived outside the area, and friends. She looked forward to receiving return letters on mail days. She also enjoyed watching and feeding birds.

She resided on the farm until she entered Glendive Medical Center on Aug. 22, 2021 and went to be with her Savior Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021.

Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, Sydney and Florence Mann; her husband, Allan Kreiman; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Sydney (Mary) Mann and Kenneth (Susan) Mann; one sister and brother-in-law, Donna (Gordon) Roth; and one son-in-law, Lloyd Albertson.

Her legacy includes the following: daughters, Nancy (Lloyd) Albertson and Shirley Kreiman; two sons, Dale (Glenda) Kreiman and Gary (Angie) Kreiman; nine grandchildren, Tim (Sarah) Albertson, Larry (Jill) Albertson, Crystal (Bill) Zink, Forrest (Jill) Kreiman, Fern (Tim) Wyrick, Field (Lucy) Kreiman, Ivy (Micah) Ingram, Abby (Branden) Hiles, and Tanner (Michelle) Kreiman; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021 at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Richey. Funeral services will follow, starting at 10 a.m. with Pastor Paul Sponheim officiating. Interment will be held at 6 p.m. in Dawson Memorial Cemetery in Glendive.
