Patricia Ann (Stoner) Hood, 84, of Glendive passed away at her home on Thursday, November 5, 2020.

Rite of Committal services were held at Dawson County Cemetery. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Pat was born on February 14, 1936 in Glendive to Larry and Polly (Lohrer) Stoner. She was one of five children, with an older sister and three brothers. Growing up, she helped her family year-round dig graves and care for the cemetery. She attended Catholic school and graduated from DCHS in 1955. At the age of 18, she started caring for Milton’s son Charles and ailing wife Alice. Pat grew to become an integral part of the family, and upon Alice’s passing, she became Mrs. Milton Hood on January 7, 1956. The family was blessed with seven more children. Over the years, she helped Milton with his various business endeavors, as well as car racing and auto polo. Pat enjoyed the giving of herself as a member of the Benevolent Order of Does and spent several years as their president. She was known by many as “Mother” Hood which was a fitting description of her character.

She is survived by her children: Charles (Theresa) Hood and daughter Brenda (Dillon); Monte (Bonnie) Hood and sons Brad, Kelly, Tyson and Casey; Terry (Robyn) Hood and sons, Travis (Andrea), Steven and Ryan (Paige); Vicki Hood and children Dixie (Todd) Erhart, Cody (Ashley) Fulton, Mandy (Steve) Nard; Patty Patterson and children Brett (Taylor) and Kaylee (Conor) Salo; David (Diana) Hood and daughters Krista and Kaitlin; Danny (Sandy) Hood and sons Jordan (Katie) and Joshua; and Tammy Hart and daughters Torri and Jadyn. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren, with two on the way; sister, Bonnie Roney; her brother, Larry (Kathy) Stoner; her sisters-in-law, Maxine and Rita Stoner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her husband; her parents; her brothers, John and Jim Stoner; and her brothers-in-law, Bud Roney and Warren (Audrey) Hood.
