Peter Harry Green passed away suddenly on April 8, 2022 just a week shy of his 87th birthday. A long time resident of Lompoc, Calif., Harry was born in Glendive on April 15, 1935 to Delbert and Liala Green. His childhood was spent on the family homestead out in the country with his two younger brothers. After moving to town, Harry attended Dawson High School.

In 1953 he joined the Air Force and served with the 1009th Special Weapons Squadron, earning both a National Defense Service medal and an Honorable discharge in 1957.

In 1958 he married a local girl, Norma Marie Bidleman. By the time his family had grown to four boys, Harry had graduated from college with a Masters degree in Education. With his teaching degree Harry moved ever westward until landing a teaching job in Lompoc.

With many of his summers free, Harry took Norma and the kids to the Green Farm almost every year to see family and friends.

Harry was preceded in death by Delbert and Liala and his brother Wesley. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Norma, their four boys, David, Kevin, Brian and Shawn and by his brother William.

Per his wishes, Harry’s ashes were laid to rest on the Green Farm on June 27, 2022, under a 100 year old cedar post. But, when the wind blows from the south, a little of him may wander down to the Union Hall to read a book until it’s time to come home.
