Connie was born to Mathew “Matt” and Frances (Kowass) Fleck on Aug. 7, 1936 at Alexander, N. D. and was raised in Grassy Butte, N. D. She was educated in Dickinson where she attended and graduated from a private elementary school. Shortly after school, she worked for F.W. Woolworth, St. Joseph’s Hospital in the kitchen, St. Ann’s Rest Home and Besticks Family Restaurant all in Dickinson. Connie later moved to Wibaux and worked at the Palace Hotel as a waitress and the Shamrock Café until marrying Charles “Chuck” Swenson on May 9, 1955. They moved to Glendive the same year and Connie stayed busy raising her five children; David A. Swenson, Cheryl R. Swenson Coyan, Daniel S. Swenson, Timothy R. “Swinee” Swenson and Christopher D. Swenson.

Connie loved flowers, helping in the garden and long walks with Chuck. She enjoyed visiting state and federal parks and watching Tim and Dan fish. Connie was an excellent cook and like any Glendivian, she was always picking up small rocks and agates. Above everything else, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings and her loving and faithful husband of sixty-six years.

Connie is survived by her five children, eighteen plus grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Connie was faithful to God and family; she was an Earth Angel and prayed for family and all mankind daily. We Love and Miss You Mama.
