Rita Buxbaum, age 73, of Glendive passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020 in Glendive.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at the Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2020 at the Evangelical Church in Glendive with Pastor David Steinbron officiating. Interment will be in the Prairie County Cemetery in Terry at a later date. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Rita was born on January 17, 1946 to Arthur and Phoebe (Lupanicci) Moe in Terry. She was raised and educated in Terry graduating from Terry High School with the class of 1964. Shortly after high school Rita was united in marriage to Jerry Trangmoe in Glendive and to this union two sons were born, Jeff and Blake Trangmoe. This marriage later ended in divorce. Rita stayed busy raising her sons and working various jobs around Glendive. She was later united in marriage to LeRoy Buxbaum in 1984 and to this union one son was born, Tyler Buxbaum. Rita always continued to stay active, whether it be her duties at home or one of the many jobs she enjoyed doing around Glendive. After retiring she remained in Glendive until the time of her passing.

Rita enjoyed cooking and taking care of her granddogs. She cherished the time spent with her nieces and staying in touch with others through Facebook. Rita always took great pride in her flowers as well as her family’s plants and flowers. She was a very caring person who always put others first and often worried more about her family than herself. Rita’s biggest love was her grandchildren, she always had time to be with them and take care of all of their needs.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy; six sisters; and one brother.

Rita is survived by her three sons, Jeff Trangmoe of Glendive, Blake (Tami Lee) Trangmoe of Glendive and Tyler (Amy) Buxbaum of Glendive; nine grandchildren, Jessica (Matt), Ali, Kailee, Aiden, Willow, Brandon, Dayton, Morgynn and Wyatt; five great-grandchildren, Tavey, Madison, Dylan, Danica and Finnley; two step-sons, Bob (Farrah) Buxbaum of Glendive and Brad Buxbaum of Oklahoma; four special nieces, Debby (Tennus) Gaub of Scottsbluff, Neb., Callie (Daniel) Weinreis of Minatare, Neb., Marie Hermon of Palmer, Alaska and Patti Hermon-Hodsdon of Palmer; one special nephew, Neil Hermon of Palmer; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
