Trust the Lord in these troublesome times

Dear Editor:

We are living in troublesome times. It is reassuring to know that the Lord is trust worthy!

Believe

What do you believe in? Do you believe in our government,

That somehow they hold the answers for a better life?

When I watch the news and see what is happening

I see a lot of bitterness, riots, accusations and strife

Do you believe in a certain religious practice,

Thinking by attending a church, that you will be ok?

Or do you compare yourselves with other people

Telling yourself that you are as good as they?

Do you believe in spiritualism, occultism and witchcraft? Finding the dark side to be stimulating

Finding the dark side to be stimulating and entertaining

When you place your life in the hands of the devil

There is going to be consequences and danger awaiting

Or do you believe that we all go to a better place Despite how you are living or what you

Despite how you are living or what you have done

Or do you believe in “eat drink and be merry

For tomorrow we die”, so why not have fun?

Life is uncertain, not knowing when you will die

The bible says that judgement is coming for everyone

Your whole life and actions will then be revealed

Do you have peace about all that you have done?

It is written: “There is none righteous, no not one”

That is why Jesus came to earth to die for our sin

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten

Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish

But have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son

Into the world to condemn the world, but that

The world through Him might be saved.”

“He who believes in Him is not condemned,

But he who does not believe, is condemned already,

Because he has not believed in the name

Of the only begotten Son of God.”

I believe in Jesus and the forgiveness of my sins,

I believe that I will be given a new life

I believe in His promise; He will never forsake me

Jesus fills me with peace, even in the midst of strife

I am asking you right now, what do you believe?

Are you relying on your own thoughts and feelings? When you die, can you rest assured of

When you die, can you rest assured of what will happen?

Heaven or Hell is the choice; where will you be going?

Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life.

he who believes in Me, though he may die

he shall live. And whoever lives and believes

in Me shall never die. Do you believe?”

The most precious gift of Christmas

Arrived in a very small bundle, sent from above.

For blessings that will last a lifetime,

Open your heart to Jesus

And accept His abundant love.
