William “Bill” Wilson, age 70, of Glendive passed away on Friday, Sept. 16, 2022 at the Eastern Montana Veterans Home in Glendive.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Bill was born on April 7, 1952 in Cotulla, Texas to Homer and Mamie Ruth (Draper) Wilson. He was raised and educated in Farmington, N.M. until he joined the Marine Corp at the age of 17. Bill served for 13 years, which included three tours of duty in Vietnam until his honorable discharge in 1978. Bill moved back to New Mexico where he worked in the oilfield in New Mexico and Utah until an injury forced him to quit this work. He then worked at AutoZone for ten years and later a foreman on a road construction crew until his health forced him to retire in 2001.

Bill was united in marriage to Kay Hickman on July 23, 2000 in Bloomfield, N.M.

Bill enjoyed hiking, gold mining, drawing and roller skating. He was a very talented artist and especially enjoyed drawing elephants and babies. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; ten brothers and sisters; and his son, Eric Dee Preimesberger.

Bill is survived by his wife, Kay Wilson; his son, Coby Preimesberger; his daughter, Teresa Wilson; his honorary daughters, Jessie Rae Hopkins and Elizabeth Scott; father-inlaw, Max Hickman; sisters-in-law, Marcia Burrows (Jim) of Glendive and Ruby Jasmin (Jerry) of Williston, N.D.; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
